Did You Do CUE Too?

Well, the long-awaited CUE conference in  Palm Springs has come and gone. Everyone who stopped by the engaging sessions
at the Discovery Education Room (DER?) left with not only some useful
knowledge, but most likely some great new goodies and giveaways as well! If you have never had the opportunity to hear
Jannita or Hall speak, you’re missing out, as they are not only informative and
relevant speakers, but they’re also pretty darn entertaining. I was most impressed with the informal nature
that allowed the sessions to flow in directions that teachers needed most, as
opposed to the static presentations we sometimes see. P3020203

DEN at CUE kicked of with a geocaching event on Thursday
evening. Discovery shared its GPS
devices to lead us on a treasure hunt that included such booty as free
subscriptions to Cosmeo, flash drives and a culminating feast of Italian
cuisine. If you missed this event, I
don’t mean to rub it in when I tell you how fun it was, but… oh wait, I do mean
to rub it in. Better be there next time
🙂

Hey, that’s me! Don’t judge the event by the look on my face. Geo-caching was really fun! (I think we were all a bit hungry for pizza by the time that photo was taken.) Hall and Jannita are great hosts and their enthusiasm is contagious. Thanks to Kim Randall for documenting the event in pictures. I look forward to future events so I can get even …er…thank you in person.

Hall and Jannita made this rookie CUE member feel right at home. Can’t tell you how overwhelmed I was as I looked through the massive number of presentations, felt like a “new student” on the first day at a new school. However, the walk/s outside of the convention center was well worth it. I was a familiar face on Friday and Saturday. Already shared information with my colleagues, and am developing the “Audacity to go more than 50 ways and Beyond.”
    Mahalo nui loa…thanks so much
