One Place to rule all your subscription services, your local content, your live video, and more.

Free Image Hosting at allyoucanupload.comAs we announced a couple of days ago, the summer webinar series is now underway.  The first webinar will be on Monday and will be an introduction to Discovery Education One Place.  If you’ve never heard of One Place this will be your chance to learn more about it and see a demo from the people who know it best.

The official copy says "One Place is a Digital Resource Management Software package providing teachers and
administrators the power to share and manage locally-created digital
content, student projects, teacher presentations and more…"

In plain English, that means that it can help you organize all of your local media, for professional development, curriculum planning, lessons and unites alike, into one central location to be shared by teachers throughout the district.  Not only that, it provides a single sign on portal for ALL of your subscription services along with a unified search of them.  Imagine being able to search through every single site your school provides you with a login to at one time.  It really helps you get maximum value from your investment.

Oh yeah, and it plays well with Web 2.0.  Embed in your widgets, load up your RSS feeds, aggregate your blogs.  It slices, it dices, it’ll even cook dinner for you!

But to be honest, I can’t really do it justice.  If you want to learn more about One Place, click here to register for Monday’s webinar!

Our district has been rolling out OnePlace since December and we are very excited about all of the possibilities. We are also LOVING how all the folks at Discovery are so willing to listen to our needs and customize OnePlace. We feel like we are helping to build and improve on this outstanding media management solution. It is very rewarding to be a part of something so innovative, progressive and just very cool! If anyone is thinking about using OnePlace at their school or district, and would like to speak to someone who is already a satisfied customer, feel free to send me an email.
