STAR DE Honored

NECC Atlanta is off to a great start. STAR Discovery Educator and fellow Illinoisan, Charlene Chausis, was honored last night as ISTE’s 2007 Outstanding Leader which recognizes and honors an individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in implementing technology to improve education.
Ideas are the currency of the Future There was also an exciting keynote by Andrew Zolli. If you can imagine demographics and population trends as funny and very entertaining on top of being very informative, then you have Andrew’s take on the future. He also runs a think tank conference called Pop!Tech that is completely available online.
If you’re at the conference keep an eye out for me. I’m the one (of many) in the light blue DEN shirt.

Having been one of the lucky teachers to have been led by Charlene for 3 years, I can tell you that NO ONE deserves this award more!!! I grew so much as an educator and a person in my 3 three incredible years with Charlene. Charlene is an amazing person whose love of learning is only surpassed by her unending spirit and positive attitude. Thanks for letting me learn to spread my wings and fly! Congrats Charlene!!!!!!!!
