The DEN Team is Growing!

A few weeks ago at the National Educational Computing Conference (NECC), we celebrated the second birthday of the Discovery Educator Network.  It was a great opportunity to reflect, share our successes and discuss the future.  One of the things we discussed was the recent explosive growth of the DEN.  The number of DEN members increases daily and through professional development, networking activities, partner promotions, etc. we continue to provide resources and benefits to those members.  Every day we hear stories of the impact DEN has on teaching and learning and ultimately on the students we serve.  As a result of this growth, Discovery is once again demonstrating its commitment to education and investing in sustainable ways to support and grow the Educator Network.  As such, we are excited to announce two new additions to our DEN team.

Brad Fountain – Bringing over 14 years of experience in education as both a classroom teacher and building administrator, Discovery is excited to have Brad rejoin the DEN team.  Having launched the DEN community in both North and South Carolina and later managing the Midwest team, Brad has a long history with both Discovery and the Educator Network.

Matt Monjan – Matt has been with Discovery for over two years and joins us from the Account Services group.  Many of you know Matt as the author of the Implementation blog and host of the DEN webinar with Planet Earth producer, Penny Allen.  He brings an unparalleled knowledge of Discovery products and an amazing amount of energy to the team.

Among other responsibilities, Brad and Matt will be coordinating leadership council activities, providing targeted professional development and working with state and regional partners to further build the DEN community.  We are excited that Discovery is committed to the DEN and is supporting our growth.  Brad and Matt will join our current team of Coni Rechner, Hall Davidson, Lance Rougeux, Jannita Demian, Steve Dembo and me who remain passionate and dedicated to supporting teachers across the country.

Please join me in welcoming Brad and Matt to the team!

    Brad,

Welcome back to the DEN network. You were awesome at last year’s SERDE. I learned so much from you. I have implemented so many things and become much more of an interactive teacher who uses technology in the classroom. This could not have been possible without your help and the help of the other great DEN leaders and employees.

Thanks again for being there for us. I will be happy to assist with or plan any event you need in Florida. Just let me know.

I already Congratulated Matt on his posting today.

How awesome to have both of you working for us!

Welcome back Brad! I had a great time working with you and our group in Silver Spring last summer. It will be nice to have you back on board!
