Houston Area Day of Discovery a Success!

From Guest Blogger, Ann Jablonski, of Pasadena ISD:

We had 35 participants, 8 presenters, and a great day this past Saturday on location in Pasadena for the DEN’s 1st virtual conference event. Educators came from different areas around Houston to share the day. Presenters shared techniques and classroom examples on digital storytelling, movie making, benefits of the DEN, ways to integrate Discovery streaming, and inserting Discovery streaming video in PowerPoint. The Keynote from Hall kept everyone in stitches as he shared ideas about the “New Brain” and how we can engage that new brain more effectively. Lance’s presentation Lost in Translation (404 n transl8N) kept evry1 on their toes. Thx 2 Lance 4 getN us ^2 speed on d lang of r studnts.  (Go to http://lingo2word.com for the English translation.) Thanks to the awesome team at Discovery for putting the day together for us!

I really enjoyed the day too. It was a nice small crowd and I met some really top notch Instructional Technology folks in Pasadena. They got it goin’ on!

What a trooper you were! With only 30 minutes warning (due to internet failure), John pulled together an awesome presentation/talk about digital literacy instead of the other fabulous presentation he had already prepared. Looked like John has it goin’ on, too!
