DEN National Geocaching Day – Kansas Events

geocaching-logo.jpgMark your calendars for the second nationwide DEN Geocaching Day! There will be two DEN sponsored events in Kansas this year, one in Wichita and one in Olathe. Here’s the scoop:

Wichita: This event will kick off at 9:00 AM on Saturday, May 22nd, in the south parking lot off of Tyler Road. We will learn how geocaching may be used in the classroom to meet instructional standards and then participate in a search for the many geocaches in the area.  GPS units will be provided or you may bring your own. Lunch and prizes will be provided to all successful geocachers. The event will end at 1:00.

Registrations starts at 10:30-11:00
Presentation from Garmin on using gps in the classroom and for recreation from 11:00-12:00
Lunch from Panera 12:00-12:45
Geocaching and launch of coins 12:45-2:45
Turn in Units and Wrap up the day.
