Web 2.0 Wednesday – Bookemon

It’s been awhile but it’s time to bring back Web 2.0 Wednesdays. Most of you are in the middle of SOL testing so I wanted to provide a resource that can be of use after testing is done.

Bookemon is a place where you can design and create books for free. Books can be shared privately online or for a price you can have bookstore quality books printed.

Check out the educator section where educators can sign up for a discount on the cost of books. In addition, there is an edCenter where teachers can create a secure place for students and staff to create their own books.

This would be a great site to use to capture a school year’s worth of memories. Create a class book and then embed it on your webpage or blog. Parents can then choose to purchase a hard bound copy for themselves.

Enjoy one of the stories I found on the Bookemon website. Mrs. Poirot’s first grade class wanted to create a book expressing what they love most about her.
