New England Day of Discovery!!!

Teachers from Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Maine poured into the parking lot at Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood, Massachusetts today for the New England Day of Discovery.  What makes teachers give up a beautiful spring day of freedom?  Learning, of course.  Learning how to reach more students; learning how to become more effective teachers; and learning how to enrich our students’ lives.  It was wonderful seeing and hearing the Discovery pros share their knowledge and insights.  The Discovery staff were joined by DEN Stars Donna Criswell, Marybeth O’Brien, and Beth Knittle from Massachusetts and Lynn Reedy and Pam Skelly from Connecticut along with Jim Dachos from Glogster EDU and staff from Valley Communications (SMART Board) for a full day of presentations.

We will be sharing more about the individual presentations in future posts.  Thank you Discovery for a great day of learning (good food too).

What a great day! I learned a lot and made new connections. Thanks Discovery for making this possible. A big thank you to Whitney Mihoulides who organized this day and made each and every one of us feel like a special educator with her personalized attention to our needs. DEN membership is great, and it seems to get better and better with each event. Keep on sharing, DEN members. Let’s all aspire to become STARS!
