DEN Geocaching Day 2010

All across the United States Discovery educators met to learn about geocaching and how to use it in the classroom. We had several events across North Carolina, including one in the eastern region at Lawson Creek Park in New Bern. A huge thank you goes out to Todd Williamson, a DEN Star from Broad Creek Middle School, for leading the event and teaching these 12  local educators about geocaching. We started the event at the park where we located our first cache, then Todd sent us out into New Bern to find more hidden treasures. Todd fielded calls from participants and almost all of them were able to find caches on their own. We even sent 5 Geocoins out into the world, and we look forward to tracking them on their journeys around the world. After a great lunch, we sent 12 teachers out into the region with a newfound excitement about geocaching! Thanks Todd and DEN!
