DEN Summer Institute: Fablevision, Fenway and Features

Lloyd’s Blog: Monday July 19, 2010

Terrific session in the morning with on the overview of the new features in the DE site. The changes are very impressive – users will value the look and the new features,

Our group was awesome in creating a teaching video on some of the new features. Every member of our group was totally involved in the collaboration and production of a very entertaining ‘masterpiece’. It will be interesting to see what the other groups think of it.

Meals at the cafeteria are excellent – lots of great choices. After another terrific meal, the guided tour bus ride into Boston provided us with interesting information about the area, with a lot of historical stories by the driver. I thoroughly enjoyed taking some great pictures and videos of the sights, especially of the monument depicting “The Goal” by Bobby Orr of the Boston Bruins. Visiting Fenway Park and Cheers were also very memorable.

The visit to Fablevision was a great educational experience. The session with Peter and Paul Reynolds, and Peter’s Daughter, was enlightening. It was very rewarding to receive Peter’s book, “So Few of Me”, and to experience how Peter took the time to talk with everyone as he autographed each book! I was proud to have my picture taken with such caring fellow-Canadians.
