TED – Ideas Worth Spreading

Do you like to watch videos?  Do you need a video for a PD that you’re planning?  Do you want to feel inspired?  Then you have to check out TED at http://www.ted.com/.  According to their Web site, “TED is a small nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design.”  TED Talks are categorized by theme but their search engine lets you do a full search of words or phrases.   On the TED Web site you’ll currently find more than 700 TED Talks from their best speakers and partners with new talks added each week.  These video clips are streamed over the Web, free of charge.  Click the full screen button and choose to add a subtitle in any of 37 different languages.

The next time you’re feeling overwhelmed, watch Jill Bolte Taylor’s inspiring TED Talk Stroke of Insight at: http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/jill_bolte_taylor_s_powerful_stroke_of_insight.html.  She’s a brain researcher who  studied her own massive stroke as it was happening and “has become a powerful voice for brain recovery”.  It will leave you feeling not only inspired but grateful.
