Welcome to Our Missouri DEN!

Hello to everyone and welcome back to an exciting year as a Discovery Education STAR educator! Let me introduce myself. My name is Vickie Lamb and I am the new Chairperson for the Missouri DEN.  The year is off to an exciting start already and I want to invite each of you to attend the numberous DEN activities we will host this year. It is the goal of your Missouri Discovery Education Leadership Council (MO DEN LC) to offer a variey of events this year in locations across the state so that becoming an Active DEN STAR is possible for everyone.
The first thing I’d like to communicate with everyone is the contact information for your MO DEN LC members along with their location in the state. Please feel free to send any of us an email with ideas, suggestions, questions, etc. We’d love to hear from you and we truly hope to build the MO DEN into active DEN full of opportunities for everyone! Next, I’d like to let you all know about two exciting events coming up in October.
The Annual Fall Virtual Conference ~ Saturday, October 23rd ~ This year we are combining the virtual conference with an in-person, face-to-face event in Branson, MO! We are combing the efforts and skills of DEN members from three states (Missouri, Kansas, and Arkansas) to offer an outstanding mini-conference in Branson, MO. Please watch your email for more details and registration information in the next day or so.
The Fox is in the DEN~ Saturday, October 30th ~ Join DEN members in Kansas City to tour Fox 4 TV station with local weather personality, Joe Lauria. During the visit to Fox 4 we’ll learn about green screen technology and digital storytelling. Details and registration information will be emailed soon.
