Spotlight on the National Park Service – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birth Home Celebration

Park Ranger and Students from a local school taken from the National Park Service siteThe National Park Service invites you to join a community celebration recognizing 30 years of preserving, protecting, and interpreting the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The celebration will take place on Auburn Avenue between Boulevard and Howell Street (the Birth Home block). Relive history through storytelling, music, and costumed characters from the 1930s. Admission is Free! Sunday, October 10, 2010, 1 – 5 PM at 450 Auburn Avenue, NE Atlanta, GA National Park Service offers field trips and tours of the birth home of Dr. Martin Luther King , Jr., the King Center, and other historic places of interest to the Civil Rights Movement in Atlanta. The National Park Service also offers teacher guides and curriculum resources for teaching racial and social justice.
