Meet Another new Wisconsin STAR

In our ongoing effort to introduce new STAR educators into the Wisconsin DEN family, I’d like to share a little information about Kayla Schumacher from Neenah.

Where do you work at and what is your role? I work at Hoover Elementary in Neenah, WI as a kindergarten teacher

What is your teaching background? I graduated from UW Oshkosh in June of 2008 and was lucky enough to get hired in Neenah in August of that same year. I have worked in two different schools in my three years, but all three of them have been in kindergarten.

How do you District use Discovery Education products? Our district has just begun using Discovery Education in the classrooms because we just got projectors installed in all of our classrooms. I am a technology mentor for my school and I attended four days of Discovery Ed. training this past summer. I am now involved in teaching technology [including Discovery Ed.] to my fellow colleagues at Hoover.

How do you hope to benefit from being a STAR Educator? I am really looking forward to collaborating with other educators by using the DEN and I am eager to learn more about technology and Discovery Ed. through the offered Webinars.
