Join Us for a Photowalk Across Cherokee

Join the NC DEN Team on Saturday, June 11 from 9-12 AM at Cherokee Elementary School in Cherokee, NC for a unique teaching and learning opportunity. Come learn about the Discovery Educator Network, being a DEN Star and DE Media Share, while practicing your geocaching skills. Oh yeah, and don’t forget that you will get to see some of the beautiful sites of the Qualla Boundary and the town of Cherokee!

We will meet at Cherokee Elementary School for a light breakfast at 9:00 am, to get our GPS coordinates for the photo scavenger hunt (bring your digital camera and handheld GPS if you have them), and head into town to collect photos of locations of historical and cultural significance based on the coordinates we give you. We will return to school by 10:45, and then we will learn how to upload these great photos to DE Media Share to be used by educators world-wide who want to learn more about North Carolina and Cherokee. We will also learn about the great things happening in the NC DEN and how to become a DEN Star! Don’t miss out !

REGISTER HERE by Thursday, June 8!
