I have had the pleasure to meet so many people in the few months since I’ve joined Discovery Education, and I’m looking forward to meeting many more.
I joined the team in November of 2011 and I am working out of the Los Angeles office. I will be working with educators in what we’re calling the “Rocky Mountain Region”, which includes Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, North Dakota and South Dakota. I’m feeling pretty lucky since this includes several states that I have yet to visit.
I was an elementary classroom teacher for several years, teaching both second and fourth grades. I left the classroom after moving from my home state of Ohio to California when I began working for a K-12 software start up. I earned the project management professional certification from the Project Management Institute and I’ve worked in educational software ever since. I’ve learned so much from working with educators all over the country. We all have our individual issues and struggles, but at the core, we all want to do what’s best for learners!
When I’m not learning all that I can about Discovery Education, I enjoy reading, running, movies and spending time with my husband. We recently adopted a 2 year old Japanese Akita we named Sawyer who keeps us laughing and busy.
I’m so excited to be a part of a team with such smart and dedicated individuals and to work for a company that provides exceptional products and services for educators.
I’ve been gone for a while, but now I remember why I used to love this blog. Thank you, I will try and check back more frequently. How frequently do you update your website?
