Meograph – Four Dimensional Digital Storytelling

Meograph helps automatically create, share, and watch interactive multimedia stories.  The first product pairs Google Earth with a timeline and multimedia overlays to tell stories in context of where and when. Authoring is structured into a few simple prompts on an intuitive interface.  Viewers get a new form of media that they can watch in 2 min or dig into for an hour.  Sharing is easy: the two most viral types of media are videos and infographics … Meograph is both.
I can immediately see the educational uses for this great app! This site allows you to add media, custom podcasts to explain the media, and provides a timeline and geographical base for the story. Students can create in depth digital stories with a geographical focus and detailed content to share with other learners and demonstrate their knowledge. This is a great tool for students to apply and demonstrate their learning by creating an important and real world product for publishing. Communication and technology skills will be enhanced and demonstrated concurrently with content knowledge. I look forward to seeing the creative products students will design with this tool.
