Mousey Monday

It’s Back to School time and Professor Mousey is here to help with bulk imports of teacher and student accounts. Here’s his three favorite import tips:

1. Usernames must be unique relative to the entire Discovery Education database, not just unique to your school or school district. Common usernames such as “johnsmith” will already exist in the system. You can prepend or append an identifier to all your usernames to create unique usernames. Example: johnsmith_myschool

2. When using our Teacher or Student templates, do not delete column headers. If you do not have data for a column, just leave the fields blank rather than deleting the entire column. Also, do not change or modify column header names or the order of the column headers. Taking any of these actions will result in a failed/rejected/unusable upload!

3. District level administrators have the option of uploading several schools on one spreadsheet!

These are the three columns that will need to be changed for each set of users for each school within the district.
