Albuquerque Common Core Bootcamp Recap

From July 31st-August 1st 50 educators from across Albuquerque Public Schools gathered together for a 2 day Common Core Bootcamp held at Madison Middle School. Participants had the opportunity to dive into Common Core and network with their peers as they built flipped videos to highlight the instructional shifts for ELA and Math. Each day incorporated engaging keynotes and provided attendees the opportunity to experience model lessons integrated with Discovery Education resources. An Edmodo group was set up for the group to chat, ask questions and share resources over the course of the 2 days. All of the resources can be found HERE.

Of course no DEN event would be complete without food and candy to keep everyone full. As the 2 days came to a close we reminded the participants to “Call me Maybe” with a fun video we created using an iPad app called Video Star. By the end of the bootcamp educators were inspired and eager to implement what they learned. We can’t wait to be back in APS!
