The DEN Stars ( & “Soon to be Stars”) are out for the Holidays!
This day will include:
Stars of the State (tour of the State Capitol),
Stars on the Stage (tour of the Overture Center),
Stars at Starbucks (Lunch and Coffee at Starbucks).
Join us on Saturday, December 1, for a great FREE opportunity to meet fellow Discovery Educators as we have some fun for the holidays.
We will begin our day at 9:00 a.m. with a tour of the State Capitol. The beautiful holiday tree will be up and the photo opportunities endless. This is also a great time to test your Wisconsin State knowledge (you might want to check out those neat Discovery resources ahead of time).
Next, we will walk down State Street for our 10:00 a.m. tour of the Overture Center. Overture Center for the Performing Arts is widely known as the most significant private gift of its kind to the arts at over $205 million. Overture Hall is one of the most stunning theatres in the country with four levels of seating and over-the-top architecture. This beautiful center is home to many incredible performances. We will start with a tour of the Capital Theater, then at 10:30 when Overture Hall opens for the hymn sing and organ concert. Next, we will go into Overture Hall at one of the upper levels for a brief discussion. We are then invited to stay for the free program at 11:00 at which time we will be treated to the beautiful sounds of the organ.
At 11:30 we will continue our walk down State Street and meet at Starbucks for coffee or lunch.
