Techbook Live in Knoxville – Update!

This Saturday, January 26th, we’re hosting the DEN’s Techbook Live at the L&N STEM Academy in Knoxville, TN.  It is a day of professional development and community building that you won’t want to miss!

We’ll start the day at 8 AM with a light breakfast courtesy of Discovery.  At 8:30 we’ll kick of some introductions and a few housekeeping details for our unconference.

At 9 AM Lance Rougeux will present his Webinar workshop live from our STEM Space in the Depot Building.  Lance is a dynamic speaker.  You won’t want to miss him as he balances presenting to our local group, operating Webex, talking on the phone, keeping up with online comments, and juggling bowling balls.  (OK, that last part was a stretch).

From 10 to 12 will be our unconference time.  You will help create it with ideas of what you would like to know more about.  No PowerPoints.  No Keynotes.  No Prezis.  Just a topic, a group of teachers with knowledge, and a conversation among peers.  It is always a powerful learning experience for those who participate!

Discovery has also graciously provided boxed lunches for everyone at 12.  We’ll watch Brad Fountain’s final presentation from 1 to 2, and then give away a few door prizes from 2 to 2:30.

All in all, it is going to be a great day of…Discovery!

But you need to hurry.  Space is limited and we’re getting closer to capacity every day.  Sign up at the this link now!

Saw an old post of yours regarding The Story of Movies curriculum. Wondering if you still have the materials. I am looking for a set of the DVDs for To Kill a Mockingbird. Thanks!
