DEN STARs in the News: Bridget Belardi

Pennsylvania DEN STAR Bridget Belardi had several of her fifth grade students selected to be a part of the Allegheny Intermediate Unit’s “TransformED: A Digital Playground for Teachers” grand opening on National Digital Learning Day. Students showcased their digital media skills by teaching teachers how to integrate technology in their classrooms. Maddie Ganoe, Meghan Maselko and Molly Maselko used Puppet Pals 1 and Puppet Pals 2 to show teachers how to make animated movies by recording their voices, taking photos and telling a story. Benson Fechter, Will Ganoe, Cameron Knox, and Blake Nelson wrote/filmed/edited skits using the green screen and the FX Studio app. They showed teachers how to take video, use the chroma key, and produce a film in under 5 minutes.

Bridget and the students were interviewed during the session. Here’s the article that appeared on NPR on February 7, 2013.
