DENchat Making Its Official Debut!

Mark your calendars.  Next Thursday, February 28, at 8 PM EST the #DENchat hashtag on Twitter will become an “official” conversation on Twitter!

In a recent webinar with the Blog and Social Coordinators for each state’s leadership councils, Porter Palmer and Steve Dembo talked to us about this thought that #DENchat become more than just a hashtag.  It has been used intermittently by some to highlight comments and posts, but there was a desire to make it more.  Several people signed up to participate.  And, in the end, Lisa Parisi took on the role of the “point person” to make it happen.

We have several DEN Stars lined up to lead discussions from week to week.  Each week  we will meet on Twitter from 8PM to 9PM EST on Thursdays.  Each week, one of our DEN Star volunteers will serve as “host” for the conversation.  It will include one question around which we hope to have an exciting and invaluable conversation!  In addition,we are looking at how best to archive the discussion and make it available on the DEN blog.

We need your help in getting the word out!  We’ll post a reminder closer to next Thursday.  We’ll also start posting on Twitter a day or two ahead inviting people to join us at 8 PM EST on Thursday, February 28th!  So mark your calendar and plan to join us as we continue to find ways to connect the DEN!

This is a great idea! We are teaching our staff how to set up and use Twitter next Monday. Twitter chats may be one of the best ways to get PD at home on your comfy sofa. Many schools are so tight in funding and this will fill the desire for learning….I hope.
