Belk Service Learning Challenge & DEN STARs

Calling STAR Discovery Educators in Birmingham, AL, Atlanta, GA, and the triad region of North Carolina:

We hope you’ve already heard about the Belk Service Learning Challenge.  We want you to know that we’re especially excited to be able to support our STAR Discovery Educators as you enter this rewarding project.  To help your students get started on their service-learning projects, Discovery Education will help fund a brainstorming pizza party!  Here’s what you need to know…

Email us at and let us know you’ll be holding a pizza party, an ice cream social, or another fun event for your students to get together and start thinking about their service learning projects! Once your confirmation email has been received, we will send you a $30 gift card in the mail, for you to use to pay for that pizza or ice cream. We’ll also send you a brief Belk Service Learning Challenge overview PowerPoint, which will provide easy step-by-step instructions on how to enter the Challenge. We’re doing all the work for you to make your participation in the Belk Service Learning Challenge as easy as possible!

*Each DEN Star participating in this offer agrees to submit a minimum of one completed Challenge application by December 31, 2013.

You can find more information below, including some fun rewards for anyone joining the challenge.  And best of all, you don’t have to complete your project by January 31st.  You just need to have submitted your project plan.  Let us know if you have any questions by emailing us or leaving comments on this blog post.
