Chompie = Joy

My colleague Dean Shareski is wonderful at sharing joy and talking about how we need to keep joy not only in our lives, but also in our school and classrooms. The more I think about it, he’s right. Smiling, laughing, and just being happy, are so good for us. Last week at ISTE, Chompie, Discovery Education’s mascot, made an appearance. We were looking for DEN Community members to spread joy as Chompie during the convention and Alison Schleede, Matt Graves, Genny Kahlweiss, and Linda Rush were eager to give it a try. They each spent time in the costume greeting conference attendees and sharing information about Discovery Education sessions at the conference. Linda was gracious enough to share a video she made of her experience. When I first saw this, I couldn’t stop smiling! Thanks to Linda, Matt, Alison, and Genny for stepping up – you certainly brought joy to everyone who saw smiled at, high-fived, and posed with Chompie last week.

    Meeting Chompie was definitely a highlight! My kids thought I met a rock star! Got some great pics for them, so glad Chompie was game for anything!

    Join us in the science revolution to reach the youngest children and their families (even those with literacy issues).
