STARs in the News: Joquetta Johnson

johnsonAs we’ve known for a long time, the DEN Community is full of the brightest and best educators around. Recently, I came across an article about Joquetta Johnson. Joquetta is a library media specialist in Baltimore County Schools and is quite the ed tech evangelist. The first time I met Joquetta was at DENapalooza Washington, DC last spring. She attended with colleagues from her school and realized that there were others from her district in attendance as well, educators she didn’t know. After realizing they all work in the same district, the four ladies quickly made connections and enjoyed the event.

The latest article, found here and one you should read, gives some background into what she’s doing at her school and a glimpse into her professional life. Take some time to read it. If you’re attending the DEN Summer Institute, she’ll be there ready to share her knowledge and find new ideas to take back to her school.

Have you been recognized in your local newspaper? Have you been published? Were you featured in an article or nominated for an award?  We know STAR Discovery Educators are doing amazing things, but we don’t always hear about it. So take a moment to toot your own horn. Tell us about it. We want to brag about you too.
