Hello, Discovery Educators!

Greetings, Discovery Educators!

My name is Emily Murn and I’m thrilled to be joining the DEN team as the Learning Communities Manager. I’ve been a part of the Discovery Education team for over 4 years, most recently as a Partnerships Manager working with the largest urban school districts across the country.

Prior to moving to Chicago and joining the DE Team, I was a 7th grade educator in Milwaukee Public Schools and served as an Instruction Technology Leader. I loved working with students and being a part of the school community. Surrounded by strong instructional leaders, I was able to experiment with a variety of strategies in my classroom (some were successful failures) and debrief the lessons with my colleagues. At the same time, I was able to share what I was learning as an Instructional Technology Leader with them and be at their side as they explored digital resources and began including them in their daily lessons.

While on the partnerships team I enjoyed learning about the education industry and getting a peek at how education looks in districts around the country. Now, I’m looking forward to getting back to my roots as an educator. In my new role I’ll be welcoming new STAR Educators to the community and sharing instructional strategies, resources and the DEN magic through the DEN Ambassador program.

I look forward to connecting with you!
