This week we’re sharing how Jessica Kemper in Baldwin County shared the SOS activities with her grade level team. The educators used grade level time to discuss the SOS activities and decided on one to use in an upcoming science lesson. The following week they had students create Paper Slide presentation on ecosystems and in the next grade level session, the team shared how the activity worked in their classrooms.
Jessica shared that while educators thought the Paper Slide video was a great introductory tool, it might be better suited for lower grade levels and used as a way for students to understand how to find, interpret and display the correct information. What a great opportunity for students to teach students!
Trying out a new strategy with your grade level or content area team is a “safe” way to explore a new idea, reflect on how it worked and learn what worked for others! What new strategy have you tried in your classroom? Share them in the comments below or share with Jessica on Twitter @JKemperEDU
