Students’ Earth Day Learning Showcase

Last week we shared a special board for your students to use as they explored concepts related to Earth Day. In that board, we challenged students to create boards to showcase what they’ve learned about taking care of our planet.  Here are a few of our favorites.

Discovery Educator Patti Grammen’s student responded to the challenge with her Earth Day Board stating, “Using renewable energy and recycling helps us keep the Earth clean. It helps us use what we have and it doesn’t let things go to waste”  and shared different ways they recycle in their home.

Discovery Educator Heidi Morgan’s student created an Earth Day Board about the impact of aluminum cans on the environment and how you can conserve water.

Another student from Ms. Morgan’s class shared that “Recycling 1 aluminum can can power a Tv for 33 minutes. If all recyclable material was recycled, it would be worth about 7 billion American dollars.” Learn more through their recycling board.

Honoring our planet also involves learning about amazing locations to increase awareness and preserve these parks.  Check out Discovery Educator Deb Thonus’ student’s report on the Badlands.
