Monday evening continued our 5 Ways to Use Discovery Education webinar series. Each month, we are highlighting DEN Community members as they share 5 unique strategies, tools, or resources for using Discovery Education in your classroom. In case you missed it, here are the educators that were spotlighted along with the resources we shared.
Our Spotlight on Strategy was a modified version of Pecha Kucha presented by Donna Miller of Massachusetts. You can find this strategy and others inside of Discovery Education by typing in the keywords “Spotlight on Strategies”.
Next I shared Board Builder, a collaborative tool for showing what students’ know. In case you missed our recent announcements, you now have the ability to share boards with the community and allow others to edit/copy your boards. Go here for 50 Ways to Use Board Builder with Your Students.
We are very excited about the DENny awards, happening on June 3rd at 7pm ET. Join us! In anticipation of the event, Dean has been creating fun commercials using an app called Split Lens 2. He used the pro version ($.99) and shared creative ways to use this app in combination with iMovie. You can see all of Dean’s videos here.
Our Featured Program was From the Ground Up: The Science of Soil. We highlighted this middle school program’s virtual activities, interactive lesson plans, and shared the recent Virtual Field Trip we hosted from Bomke’s Farm in Springfield, Illinois.
Francie Snyder shared one way that she connects Discovery Education’s Virtual Field Trips to literacy.
