Before the Thanksgiving holiday, I had the opportunity to check in with our DEN-mazing educators in Maury County, Tennessee. Over the course of the fall semester, DEN STAR Tammy Crews has been hosting a cohort of our DEN Ambassador program with her colleagues at McDowell Elementary School in Columbia, TN.
During the final of the three DEN Ambassador sessions, I was able to connect with many of the school’s teachers who have shown their commitment to learning, sharing, and connecting all through the fall. In this session, they reflected on how their use of digital media has changed over the semester and shared some of the ways that the effective use of digital resources is changing outcomes for their students. They explored Discovery Education’s student accounts and Board Builder tool, learning how these tools can help to personalize instruction, engage learners, and provide contextual support for classroom resources.
Most importantly, the final DEN Ambassador session was a celebration of the excitement, enthusiasm, and commitment to learning shared by the teachers in Maury County! I also want to send a huge shout out to their first-time DEN Ambassador lead, Tammy, who did an amazing job.
