Exploring the global education revolution being powered by Discovery Education’s state-of-the-art digital curriculum resources.
Education Is A Human Right
In 2018, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed January 24 as International Day of Education, recognizing that the key to a sustainable future is inclusive and equitable education for all the people of the world, regardless of current affairs or historical context.
It’s troubling enough to consider even a single young person being denied the right of an education, yet, according to UN figures, “about 265 million children and adolescents around the world do not have the opportunity to enter or complete school” (2018).
Thus, International Day of Education is not just a celebration of the universal power of learning, but, more importantly, it is a reaffirmation of our responsibility as global citizens to ensure that each and every person receives agency through adequate education. And in the year 2020, there has never been more opportunity to do just that!
