Developed in partnership with The Tech Interactive, Tech for Tomorrow introduces students to today’s cutting-edge technology and inspires them to create enduring innovations for the future. The Tech for Global Good collection of resources is ideal for virtual learning. Each of the four lessons in the series includes short videos focusing on the problem, the solution, the impact and the role students can play right now in addressing the challenges. A downloadable lesson plan is also included, complete with the resources necessary to expand on the video content. An additional digital lesson bundle takes the learning even further with an exploration of real-time efforts that impact the environment globally.

Accessible from any digital device, Tech for Global Good content can be explored independently, or as part of a larger virtual lesson. Each of the lessons highlights a real-world innovator featured in The Tech Interactive’s new multimedia exhibit showcasing the use of technology to create meaningful solutions. Zipline teaches students about how technology can address the many challenges of ensuring those in remote areas have access to the medical supplies they need by exploring efforts to deliver life-saving medicine to women during childbirth in Rwanda and Ghana. Use this lesson and the suite of associated videos to connect the current news of COVID-19 with a greater understanding about the connection between social, economic, scientific, and political activity and medical crises.
Solvatten explores the issue of access to clean water in 20 developing nations. The solution? A portable device that uses solar energy to purify water, making it easier for women and underserved populations to access safe drinking supplies.?What can students do to have an impact on this issue right now? Educate, Empathize and Act!
Creating a Digital Ecosystem, a complete digital lesson bundle, shows students how they can help scientists use the power of data to protect the environment. Students will learn more about digital ecosystems and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. They will then apply what they’ve learned by thinking through development of an app to create a digital ecosystem for the environment.
