And a good time was had by all…..
Texas DENnies gathered at nature rich locations in Houston, Austin, and the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex on Saturday May 1 for Photowalking Spring 2010. After enjoying and photographing the natural beauty around them, groups enjoyed some good food at local wifi spots and heard Discovery’s Joe Brennan discuss “Using Photography In The Classroom.” Favorite photos were uploaded to Discovery’s flickr account for sharing with all.
The DEN at TCEA
Discovery goes to the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum in Austin Texas. On February 9, Discovery users gathered for a great day of learning, networking, and general fun. Presenters from Discovery spoke about the student as collaborator, use of technology in the humanities area and in the math and science areas. Eager to learn librarians filled sessions on use of Discovery and the wonders of the DEN at the Library Harvest at ESC 11 in Fort Worth on September 11. The session attendees were shown the new Discovery Streaming interface, how to use the new student center, and more. DEN leaders Betsy Ruffin and Charlotte Solorio told about the many great things available in the DEN for librarians. Attendees also had a chance to pick up materials and speak with DEN members at the DEN vendor table.
